All the five nominations for Maharashtra Legislative Council biennial polls from Nagpur constituency have been declared valid after scrutiny, on Wednesday.
After the scrutiny the candidates in the fray are Chandrashekhar Bawankule (BJP), Dr Ravindra alias Chhotu Bhoyar and Prafulla Gudadhe Patil (both Cong) Mangesh Sudhakar Deshmukh and Suresh Daulatrao Rewatkar (both Independent).
The objection raised on Bawankule’s nomination papers by Dr Bhoyar was rejected by Election Officer and District Collector R Vimala.
The last date for withdrawal of nominations is November 26. The polling will be held on December 10 and counting is scheduled for December 14.
