Union Health Ministry has confirmed that two Omicron cases have been reported in the country both from Karnataka.
With more than half of the active Cvid19 cases are from adjoining Karnataka and Maharashtra states, improving testing and vaccination is most important.
The Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry Lav Agrawal has stated that entire world is facing threat as about 70 percent of Covid19 cases are from Europe.
Compared to Europe region, South-East Asian countries including India, only 3.1 percent cases of the world, have been reported. Around 373 Omicron cases have been reported from 29 countries.
In India the vaccination campaign ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ (knocking every door) has improved second dose vaccination by 11.7 percent by November end. At the same time the campaign has resulted in 5.9 percent hike in first dose vaccination.
The states have been advised to increase testing and vaccination, so as to reduce the possible threat of Omicron wave.
