The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has imposed ban on sale, stocking and use of nylon ‘manja’ and synthetic thread as per the directives by Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court. It will take penal action against the persons violated the rule. Therefore, the persons particularly youths, should avoid use of nylon ‘manja’ or synthetic thread while playing kites during Sankranti festival, appealed NMC.
The use of ‘manja’ or synthetic thread can cause injuries to human beings and birds or it can prove fatal. Therefore, the High Court has issued the orders in order to check the use of ‘manja’ and thread. NMC has appealed to citizens not to use these things or face suitable action.
