A Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be formed to investigate into the threat issued to Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray. Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil made this announcement on Thursday.
The issue of Thackeray getting threat is s serious issue and was raised in both the Houses of State Legislature. Maharashtra ministers Chhagan Bhujbal and Nawab Malik also participated in the discussion and alleged that involvement of Sanatan Sabha should also be enquired.
Leader of Opposition emphasizing that unbiased enquiry into the threat must be done and the guilty be punished. If the MVA government has any proof of involvement of Sanatan Sabha, action should have been initiated during the two years of the government. Similarly activities of Raza Academy should also be investigated. The issue, however, should not be used to settle course by political leaders.
Fadnavis was also alleged of protecting Sanatan Sabha during his tenure. Fadnavis stated that any concrete proof against the organization was not available for initiating action. If the present government has any it should have taken action by now.
Bhujbal said that the Centre should intervene as activities of the organization are spread over Karnataka and Goa, besides Maharashtra.
Fadnavis reiterated that the issue should not be politicized and unbiased investigation should be carried out.
The discussion ended when Walse Patil announced constitution of SIT to enquire into the threat to Aditya Thackeray.
