The launching of the girders for the country’s largest double-decker bridge, being built by Maha Metro in Gaddigodam, has begun. After inspecting the worksite on Friday, Maha Metro managing director Dr Brijesh Dixit advised doing the most difficult work with caution and supervision.
Mahesh Kumar, executive director of Maha Metro, is the project director (admin- istration) Anil Kokate is the project manager in charge (Reach 2) Prakash Mudliyar and other officials were in attendance. It should be noted that a double decker bridge is being built near the Gaddigodam Metro station. A railway bridge on the Indian Railways’ Delhi route is located near the girder launching site.
Trains pass through this route on a regular basis. In this case, a large crane has been deployed in this narrow space to launch girders. One girder weighs approximately 9 tonnes. The girder launching work is ongoing 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The construction is taking place at a height of 24 metres above the ground. Heavy and light vehicle movement has been restricted as a result of this. Butibori MIDC is bringing the steel bridge girders here.
