As per the directives of Central Government, the COVID-19 vaccination drive will start in Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s boundary for children in the age group 15 to 18. The students of 10th to 12th standards are coming under this age group and NMC had asked help from Government, Private, Junior College institu-
tions and coaching classes to encourage students for vaccination, said additional commissioner, Ram Joshi.
A special meeting was held at Corona War Room in NMC’s administrative building. Ram Joshi was addressing the representatives of education institutions and coaching classes about the planning.
NMC Medical Officer, Dr Sanjay Chilkar; Education Officer, Preeti Mishrikotkar; vaccination co-ordinator, Dr Goverdhan Navkhare were also present in the
meeting.
As per the directives of Central Government, the first dose of vaccine will start in NMC boundary to children in the age group 15 to 18 from January 3, 2021.
The second dose of Covaccine will be given after 28 days of first dose.
The children born after January 7, 2007 are eligible for the vaccination. All education institutions should encourage these children and protect them from Covid with the preventive vaccination, he added.
