Central admission committee has released the final figures of the class 11 admission process. According to this, 34020 seats have been filled out of 59195 seats at stake in the four-and-half-month long admission process. About 25175 seats have remained vacant.
Recently in the admis sion process on first come on first serve basis, only 74 admissions have taken place.
According to figures received from the commit tee, minimum admissions took place in the colleges operating arts faculty. Out of the total 9420 seats of the arts faculty, only 4070 students have taken admission while 5350 seats remain vacant.
Most of the admissions have taken place in sci ence faculty. There are 27880 seats in the science faculty of different col leges of the city. Out of this 18968 seats have been filled while 8912 seats remain vacant.
Out of the 17880 seats of the commerce faculty, 9912 seats have been filled. The main reason behind the vacant seats is the admission of students in colleges in rural areas adjacent to the city.
Science as well as com merce courses seats have been filled in reputed col leges of the city. Good admissions have also been done in the faculty of arts.
According to the infor mation received from the education department, in this academic session, seats were filled quickly in colleges in rural areas adjoining Nagpur city, due to which some col leges had also applied for increasing the seats while no college in the city applied for increasing the seats.
It is worth mentioning here that last year too many seats had remained vacant.
