A full-grown tigress was found dead in Bhadravati Forest Range in Chandrapur district on Chalburdi-Kondha Shiv Road.
Upon getting information, Prashant Khade, Divisional Forest Officer, Chandrapur, Nikita Chaurey, Assistant Conservator of Forest, H P Shende, Range Forest Officer, Dr Ravikant Khobragade from Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, Dr S R Rode, R C Shendre, both Livestock Development Officers, and other reached the spot.
As per preliminary report, the tigress died of electrocution. Whiskers and canines are found in intact position. The post mortem was conducted by a team of doctors. The exact cause of the death would be ascertained after arrival of the report.
An offence has been registered in the case. Later, the mortal remains of the tigress were consigned to flames in presence of forest officers, Bandu Dhotre, Representative of NTCA and SBWL, Mukesh Bhandakkar, Representative of PCCF (Wildlife) and others.
