One more tiger died in the first week of the new year. A four-year-old tiger was found dead near a lake at Katli village in Sakhra round of Porla Forest Range in Wadsa Forest Division in Gadchiroli district on Wednesday evening.
Upon getting information, forest officers and staff reached the spot. On Thursday morning, the staff conducted ‘panchnaama’ and brought carcass in Porla Office.
A team of doctors including Ravikant Khobragade, V S Lekhami and B R Ramteke performed post mortem in presence of forest officers. Doctors noticed injuries on the neck and leg occurred during territorial fight with another carnivore.
Later, the mortal remains of the body were consigned to flames, informed Deputy Conservator of Forest, Wadsa.
