Dr Neelam Gorhe, MLC and Deputy Chairperson of Maharashtra Legislative Council, has submitted a memorandum to Dilip Valse-Patil, the Home Minister, demanding stringent action against accused involved in rape case on 13-year-old girl in Arvi taluka of Wardha district and abortion conducted by the doctor.
She pointed out that a 17-year-old boy maintained illicit relations with the girl and arrested Dr Rekha Kadam on January 10 as well the parents of the boy. Dr Gorhe pointed out that the doctor performed abortion illegally. The cops while checking the premises of the clinic found a gas chamber behind it in which flesh and broken bones were seen. This material was sent to CA Office, Health Department, Nagpur, for testing.
So far cops have arrested three persons in this sensational case, she said demanding search of the persons helping and arresting them for early result in the case, holding regular meetings/video conferencing of District level committee and keeping record of bio medical garbage of private hospitals in the jurisdictions of municipal corporations, councils, nagar parishads and panchayat samitis. She also demanded immediate help to the aggrieved girl from Manodhairya Yojna.
Dr Gorhe has also submitted copies to Shambhuraje Desai, Minister of State for Home, Dr Pradip Vyas, addl Chief Secretary, and Sanjay Pande, DGP.
