Started on 20th Jan 2022 by TULI College of Hotel Management. The inauguration had Dr Sudhir Andrews, Father of Hospitality Education, Dr Bhupesh Kumar Principal IHM , Raanchi, Dr Ak Singh, Principal IHM, Bhopal and Mr. Mohabat Singh Tuli speak on the occasion.
The inaugural address was shared by Dr Urvashi Yashroy, Director Tuli College of Hotel Management , where she said why it was relevant to talk of reskilling , Multi skilling and upskilling in post C9 era , hence the title of the conference Mr mohabat Singh Tuli , welcomed the guest and stressed on the need for continuous growth through education esp in hospitality sector.
Dr AK Singh motivated the students to reskill themselves and look at the brighter future . He also talked of the extremely important skill i.e skill evaluation and skill gaps Dr Bhupesh Kumar talked of Skill Stacking, he called this generation as the tik tok generation and said many skills can be attained and acquired through making and sharing small videos and can then be permanently embedded in our professional skills Everything now works on combination of skills.
He talked of how big names displayed outstanding skills to manage both core skills and other skills to reach to the success Upskilling for Fourth Industrial Revolution- Dr. SUDHIR ANDREWS, “Father of Hospitality Education†in his long session elaborated on many aspects of entrepreneurship, developing skills that can stand alone and work alone giving the professional an upper hand He said 70 million jobs will be lost but 133 million jobs will be created.
The way we look at jobs will change The hotels will see an employing a lot of digital resources like coded check-in checkouts, bio metric walls etc He said “ being a master of one and being a jack of few allied traits is now become extremely essential.
Nurturing that skill that the candidate is passionate about in combination with other skills post-session interaction lead to a satisfied audience He talked of adaption to change. Reskilling, Multiskilling, Upskilling-uncover your real potential- DR.URVASHI YASHROY, talked of how to uncover your potential with reskilling revolution She guided the students about how upskilling, and reskilling can be an investment in your own professional growth
The various stages of multi-skilling can help integrate and transform human resources to a multi skiller She laid stress on Giggers economy, care economy and green economy. Reskilling or multiskilling avenues for core operation employees – Mr.Manoj Bali, GM , Radisson Blu, Nagpur The last speaker for the day ,Mr Bali , started by Reminiscing about the past 2 years not so pleasant experience, guided students to stay positive and keep moving forward He discussed his plans for coming times He talked of how he took his employees who were keen in a more responsible role.
The day ended with a paper presentation by final year students and the judges were Dr Arti Meshram , Principal Govt Institute of Hotel Management and Prof Kumar Satyam from IHM , Bhopal. The audience comprised of students and faculty from various Hotel Schools from Nagpur, Ranchi and Bhopal. The Millenials had plenty of questions and were responded by the speakers and appreciated the keen interest students have taken.
The hospitality industry is a never-die business and evolves with every crisis. The digital era has fully taken over the industry by a storm and is going to help grow many fold. The second day will showcase many new speakers covering the revolution in reskilling on 21st Jan 22
