Amid the rising Covid-19 cases in Nagpur district, there are no plans for enforcing strict restrictions in Nagpur District, informed Guardian Minister Dr Nitin Raut here, on Saturday.
Speaking to media personnel, Dr Raut said that despite increase in the number of patients, the number of critical and hospital admission is low. Mortality is also low. In Nagpur district, AIIMS currently has 17,000 beds available. Oxygen capacity is also sufficient to withstand any emergency.
However, vaccination is the only cure for this disease and the first and second doses in urban and rural areas should be completed 100 percent, the Guardian Minister suggested.
If infected with COVID-19 isolate, consult doctors and be careful. The administration is ready to provide all facilities, respond to the ‘I am safe, my Nagpur is safe’ campaign with self-discipline, Dr. Raut appealed.
Dr Raut said that the schools in the district will remain closed till January 26 owing to the surge of coronavirus cases. The next decision in this regard will be announced on January 26, after assessing the situation
He said a decision on what new restrictions would be imposed in Nagpur would be taken only after January 26.
Nagpur District on Friday had recorded 4,763 new COVID-19 cases. Off the total Nagpur rural reported 963 new cases on Friday, while city recorded 3689 single-day positive cases.
Seven persons died of coronavirus on Friday. Number of active cases too has gone up to 21719.
