Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Orange City Water have planned a 36- hours technical shutdown of Pench-II water Treatment Plant located at Gorewada to install 33 kv Electric Panel at WTP premises as well as install a new 1000 mm dia Butterfly valve removing huge sluice valve at Seminary Hills MBR premises and 4 interconnections in Seminary Hills GSR premises from January 27 (Thursday) at 10 am to Jan 28 (Friday) at 10 pm.
Following this 36-hours shutdown , water supply in almost 22 ESR’s from 4 zones of West & South-West Nagpur like Dharampeth zone, Laxmi Nagar Zone, Hanuman Nagar zone & Mangalwari Zone to remain affected. Further as almost 22 ESR’s will remain empty, water supply through Tankers will also be not possible during and after shutdown in affected areas.
Below is the Major proposed work during shutdown .
- 33 KV electric panel installation at Pench-II WTP.
- 100 mm dia Butterfly Valve at Seminary Hills MBR premises
- 4 Nos of interconnections at Seminary Hills GSR premises.
22 ESR (Overhead water Tanks) to remain affected January 27 (Thursday) at 10 am to Jan 28 (Friday) at 10 pm.
Dharampeth Zone: Seminary Hills ESR, Seminary Hills GSR, Ramnagar ESR, Rifle Line, Futala Line , IBM DT, Civil Lines DT & RamNagar GSR
( Bulk Consumer: MES, MECL, WCL, Govt Milk Scheme, Gondwana Club, IG Bunglow, Governor House, CPWD, Postal Colony etc)
Laxmi Nagar Zone: Gayatri Nagar ESR, Pratap Nagar ESR, Khamla ESR, Trimurti Nagar ESR, Takli Sim ESR, Jaitala ESR, and Laxmi Nagar (New) ESR
Hanuman Nagar Zone: Chinchbhavan ESR, Chinchbhavan NIT ESR,
Mangalwari Zone: Gittikhadan ESR,
Water supply in affected areas will be resumed on January 28 (Friday) after 10 pm in night..in affected areas as well as per schedule supply timing
Citizens also take note that during and after Pench-II WTP shutdown on January 25 (Thursday ) at 10 am to Jan 28 (Friday) at 10 pm, Water supply through Tankers will also be not possible in the affected areas.
NMC & OCW has appealed citizens from above-mentioned affected areas to co-operate and store sufficient water for their use in advance.
