The pre-arrest bail application of MLA Nitish Rane has been rejected by the Supreme Court on Thursday. He has been directed to surrender before the court within ten days.
Nitish rane, son of Union Minister Narayan Rane, has been charged with an attack on Santosh Parab on December 18, in connection with elections of a local body. He is also facing charges of making Catcall (Meau…. Meau) allegedly insulting Maharashtra Minister Aditya Thackeray, in front of the Vidhan Bhavan, Mumbai on December 23, during Thackeray’s entry.
Nitesh Rane had moved the Supreme Court for the pre-arrest bail. Rane, however, has been granted time of ten days for applying for a regular bail, with the local lower court.
Senior Counsel Mukunl Rohatgi appeared for Rane, while another senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Sanghvi argues on behalf oe the state.
