A young married woman committed suicide in Jalalkheda. The reason for her extreme action became clear after cops discovered a’suicide note’ in which she blamed her marriage to a ‘poor man’ for her actions.
In December 29, 2021, the woman Ashwini (25) married Haridas Ranmale, an inhabitant of Yavatmal.
Her spouse worked as a teacher at the Zilla Parishad School in Wadhona, Nagpur. He was hired as Shikshan Sevak in 2020 and was reportedly paid Rs 6,000/- per month.
After marriage, the couple rented a room in Jalalkheda. Ashwini, Haridas, and her grandmother.were living together. Haridas used to go to Wadhona attending to his duties, and Ashwini and her grandmother stayed at home.
On January 30, Ashwini’s grandmother went to her
nativeplace.On February 1,as Haridas left for Wadhona, Ashwini committed suicide by hanging. On being informed, the cops reached the spot.
Initially, they did not find any clue to why she committed suicide. However, after a keen search of the household, the cops found a ‘suicide note’ in which Ashwini had stated that she was ending her life as she was married to a ‘poor man’. She also stated that her poor friends were married in rich families and with highly educated men. But, she reportedly lamented in the note, despite coming from a well-to-do family with high education, she was married off to a ‘poor man’.
The cops registered an accidental death in the matter. Harishchandra Gawade, Police Station Officer, and his team are conducting further investigations under the guidance of Nagesh Jadhav, Sub-Divisional Police Officer.
