An injured tiger brought from Paoni Forest Range in the last week of January month died during treatment in Gorewada Rescue Centre on Sunday.
The tiger was suffering from fracture of sacrum, large hematoma, fracture of Rt Maxilla and lungs consolidation, according to factors.
The rescue team had brought the injured tiger from compartment no: 420 in FDCM jungle to the rescue centre for treatment. Dr N V Kurkure, Director, MAFSU, Dr Sujit Kolangat, Dr Mayur Pawse and Dr Shirish Upadyaya perfirmed post mortem. Later, mortal remains of the tiger were consigned to flames.
Hemant Kamdi, Assistant Inspector General, National Tiger Conservation Authority, Kundan Hate, Representative of PCCF (Wildlife), Pramod Panchbhai, Divisional Manager, Gorewada Zoo Project, and others were present.
