Ravindra Bhelawe, Transport Manager, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, has submitted the Transport Department’s revised budget for 2021-22 and proposed budget for 2022-23 for Rs 384.13 crore to Jitendra (Bunty) Kukde, Chairman of Transport Committee, on Tuesday.
In the revised budget, a revenue of Rs 178.08 crore is expected after calculating the initial savings while the expenditure is expected at Rs 177.90 crore.
A video conferencing of the committee was held in the chamber of Chairman during when Bhelawe submitted the budget. Bhelwe said that city transport fund, revenue reserve fund and transport modification fund have been formed separately. The daily number of passengers in ‘Aapli Bus’ is 71,000 daily in view of coronavirus pandemic while they make 4600 trips daily. A fleet of 172 diesel, CNG standard buses, 141 midi buses, 42 mini buses and 6 electrical Tejaswini buses for women, totally to 361 are being operated. In the fleet, 15 more electric midi buses from Nagpur Smart & Sustainable City Development Corporation Ltd would be added by March end.
He said, a planning has been made for plying more city buses on busy roads as per the need.
