India, under Rohit Sharma captaincy again jumped to the No. 1 spot in the ICC T20I Rankings, after they clean-swept West Indies 3-0 in a T20I series that concluded on Sunday in Kolkata.
Team India returned to the top of the T20I rankings for the first time since February 2016 nad dethroning England after they clean-swept West Indies on Sunday.
The victory over the West Indies has helped India surpassed England with 269 points with England at the top of the ICC T20I Rankings.
While England and India both have the same rating across 39 international matches in the rankings period (269), India has a total of 10,484 points, 10 more than England’s 10,474.
After Virat Kohli’s step-down from captaincy post the World Cup, incumbent skipper Rohit Sharma led India to series clean-sweeps over New Zealand and West Indies – raising the tally to nine consecutive wins in the format.
