Sunil Kedar, Minister for Dairy Development and Animal Husbandry, said that goat/sheep development programme would give boost to rural economy. He said that it was also important to strengthen and modernise areas under Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Sheli-Mandhi Vikas Mahamandal, along with it.
He was speaking at a meeting organised on Tuesday. J P Gupta, Principal Secrfetary, Animal husbandry, Manik Gutte, Joint Secretary, Dr Shashank Kamble, Managing Director of the mahamandal, and senior officials were present in the meeting.
Kedar further said that goat/sheep rearing business proved to be additional source of income to agriculture. Around 70 per cent people in the state depend on agriculture but rearing business is also important part of economy. He said developmental works would be taken up from Rs 90 crore funds,
