In a big step, police force became successful in detecting explosives, bombs, weapons and other materials buried by Naxals in Banjari Rith jungle area, Jamtola under jurisdiction of Purada Police Station in Kurkheda sub-division in Gadchiroli district with evil design of attacking security men on Wednesday.
On a tip-off that Naxals belonging to Korchi LOS, Tipagad LOS and Company no: 4 buried these dangerous materials for causing damages to life and property, Ankit Goyal, Superintendent of Police, and other officials created a special anti-naxal team under the leadership of Sahil Zarkar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Kurkheda, with BDDS team to detect the place and seize the dangerous materials.
The teams were successful in identifying the exact place in jungle and seized the explosives, bombs etc. They seized bombs, detonators, gun powder, sprinter iron pieces, mobile charger switch, shirt, pant, books and other materials. The bomb was defused on the spot by BDDS team while rest of the materials were brought to Gadcrhiroli.
An offence has been registered in this case while officials are making further investigation.
Naxalites suffered a shock by detection of these materials in the background of TCOC Week. Now, they have realised that cops are on their watch and it would prove to be difficult for them to pressurise and make common people with force to observe TCOC Week.
Goyal has congratulated both the teams on their successful mission. The activity was conducted under the guidance of Somay Munde, Addl SP (Campaign), Sameer Shaikh, Addl SP (Administration), and Anuj Tare, Addl SP.
