Alert volunteers of Wildlife Welfare Society caught red-handed six accused while selling three rabbits at Samudri Mata Mandir, Wadi, and handed over them to Wadi Police Station on Friday. Later, they informed forest officials to take necessary action in the matter.
On a tip-off, volunteers of the society along with Maa Foundation workers reached the spot where the accused were selling the rabbits. They took control of the accused and seized the rabbits in small cages and handed over them to Wadi police. Later, forestmen came and started investigation into the matter. Forestmen then sent the accused to Sadar Police Station.
Volunteers of society included: Nitish Bhandakkar, Secretary, Rakesh Bhoyar, Sahil Sharnagat, Gaurang Waikar, Khushwant Ganorkar, Ashoki Gurung, Gaurav Nagpure and others.
