Workers of Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti will stage demonstrations on March 11, the last day of Parliament session, in front CGO Complex, Seminary Hills, at 1 pm to press the demand for formation of separate Vidarbha state.
Addressing a press conference at Tilak Patrakar Bhavan here on Wednesday, Adv Wamanrao Chatap, President of the samiti, said that the Central Government/Parliament had rightundr Section 3 of the Constitution to form a separate state. The samiti wants that it should announce formation of searate Vidarbha state at least till that period by displaying political will.
He pointed out that the workers would launch agitation at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, during the Budget session, if the demand is not conceded by then. He stressed that Vidarbha region has enough natural resources and infrastructure to become a economically viable state.
Prakash Pohre, Ranjana Mamarde, Mukesh Masurkar, Arun Kedar, PKV Chakraborthy, Gulabrao Dhande, Vinshu Ashtikar, Tatyasaheb Matte, Rajendra Satai, Rekha Nimje and others were present at the press conference.
