Nagpur city cops are all set for Holi 2022. A total of 10 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) rank officers, 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 40 Police Inspectors, 208 APIs/PSIs, 1,843 police personnel, 190 women police personnel, two companies of State Reserve Police Force, special teams of Crime Branch and Special Branch (SB) will be deployed during the two-day long bandobast.
Apart from this Damini squad will also be on alert for the safety of women and to keep check on anti-socials.
The CP during a media address warned that spraying colour water or throwing water-filled balloons at strangers or pedestrians would attract stringent police action.
Local police teams have been ordered to intensify patrolling in the sensitive areas. Bajeria in Ganeshpeth, Tandapeth in Pachpaoli, Thakkargram, Lashkaribagh, Rameshwari in Ajni, Babulkheda, Ramtek Nagar, Rambagh in Imamwada, Jattarodi, Kapasi in Kalamana, Tajbag in Sakkardara and Hasanbag in Nandanvan are some of the sensitive areas of the city. 150 criminals to be detained on Holi.
Residents of Ajni, Gittikhadan and Ambazari police stations complained about illegal sale of liquor while residents of Ajni and
Gittikhadan were not happy over mismanagement of traffic. CP Amitesh Kumar, Joint CP Aswati Dorje, Addl CP Navinchandra Reddy and other senior police officers were present in the meeting. DCP Traffic Sarang Awad compared the programme.
