Akola continues to be the hottest city in Vidarbha and it is also one of the hottest cities in the world.
Akola recorded a temperature of 44.0 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the highest in Vidarbha region. Yesterday, it had registered a temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius, becoming hottest place in the world.
All the 11 districts in Vidarbha have crossed temperature above 40 degrees Celsius but Chandrapur and Amravati are also coming up in the list of hot places. Chandrapur had crossed 44 degrees C mark a couple of days ago and it registered a temperature of 42.6 degrees C on Wednesday. Amravati district is also facing scorching summer heat with 43.2 degrees C today.
Following are the temperature figures in C registered on Wednesday: Brahmapuri – 42.2, Wardha – 42.2, Gondia – 41.5, Washim – 41.5, Buldana – 41.0, Nagpur – 40.9, Yavatmal – 40.9 and Gadchiroli – 39.0.
According to forecast made by India Meterorological Department heat wave conditions will prevail in isolated pockets over Vidarbha and Maharashtra during the next two to three days. The heat wave spell is likely to continue over most parts of Central India and Nortrhwest during the next five days.
