A proposal demanding Rs 107 crore for the development of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has been submitted to the Higher Education Minister Uday Samant on Tuesday. The demand has been made as the University is completing 100 years of its establishment, in August this year.
The proposal was submitted by the Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhari and MLC Abhijit Wanjari. They have requested Samant to make the provision through supplementary demands during the monsoon session of the State Legislature.
Important projects mentioned in the proposal include Technology and Energy Park, Technical Skill Development Centre, World Class Sports Complex, Heritage Museum, Centre for Study of Gondi Language etc.
