MSME Forum of Vidarbha Industries Association in collaboration with Vidarbha Dall Millers Association 7 LITAA conducted a seminar on Emerging Food Processing Prospects for Dall Miller’s in Vidarbha on April 18.
The resource person was Dinesh Garg from Leelaram Enterprises Delhi having more than 47 years of experience in consulting entrepreneurs in the food processing industry.
Garg shared insight about how value-added products under MSME sector can be a profitable option than the basic products. He shared a few examples such as products currently in demand and their average pricing in comparison with base products. Products like potato flakes are being exported at the rate of 200/Kgs.
Food products that are value-added with basic ingredients are in huge demand, ready to cook meals are being adopted & a good forward integration of supply chain/ value chain can be created. Another segment where ample opportunities are available is cattle feed & protein powder.
Protein powder is in very huge demand in the health care & sports industry. Fibres from the pulses can be another product which is in high demand as it helps to prevent various diseases. Dall flakes & powder are being used by the defense sector and widely in south Indian delicacies, in the segment of ready to eat, namkeens etc. Further he also shared technical details of such a project in which how existing dall mills can expand their businesses for value added products.
CA Girish Deodhar & CA Yashwant bhojwani shared the insight of schemes and subsidies of state and central governments and how dall mills of Vidarbha can avail the benefits for new projects and expansion in existing projects.
Earlier Rajendra Shrama secretary of Vidarbha Dall Millers Association gave an introduction of guest speaker and context of this event and how dall mills of Vidarbha can get benefitted.
Utkarsh Khopkar – Secretary LITAA appreciated the information and insights shared by the guest speaker and assured the LITAA will organize a few more sessions for the benefit of local industries. He also added that LITAA would be ready to help the budding entrepreneurs by providing support if LITAA from their incubation centre also.
Former president Suresh Bhojwani in his concluding remarks appealed to the young dall mill owners in general and younger once in particular to take advantage of Garg’s presentation and also make efforts to set up their value added units in Nagpur.
Bhimsenji Garg, Mahohar Bhojwani, Yogesh Bhowani, Gaurav Garg, Anand Jain, Suraj Agrawal, Harish Motwani, Pankaj Somaiyya, Nishant Yaduka, Rajesh Nahata, Saurabh Gupta and other dall millers were prominently present. Event were attended by more than 75 dall millers of Nagpur.
