Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University felicitated Management Council members, Senate members, teachers, NCC officers, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers for valuable services rendered during Covid pandemic.
The programme was organized by the Department of Students’ Development and NSS Unit of the University. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Sanjay Dudhe presided over the function. Col Amod Chandana Commanding Officer and Lt. Col Amit Chaudhary were the guests.
Dr Abhay Mudgal, in his introductory speech, narrated the various efforts taken by the Members of the statutory bodies of the university, NCC Cadets and NSS volunteers, without caring for their personal safety. The NCC cadets assisted in the distribution of rations at PDS. They also assisted the students from other states, stuck in the city by arranging for a special train, with the help of the authorities concerned. They also coordinated the distribution of lunch boxes for needy people and stranded students. The move was initiated by Vishun Changade and Advocate Manmohan Vajpai.
Dr Dudhe said, “We are thankful to the students who selflessly worked to save the life . They proved to be real lifesavers during the covid-19 pandemicâ€.
Col Amond Chandana said, “The programme was organized to recognize the efforts of NCC Cadets who acted as frontline Covid warriors during the pandemic, which was exactly like a war situation. Hence they deserve to be honoured,â€
Thanking the RTM Nagpur University, the cadets said, “It’s always good to know that your services are being recognized and appreciated.â€
Dr. Urmila Dabir, Dr. Nitin Kongre, Shri Waman Turke, Shri Prashant Dekate and NCC officers, Dr. Taksande in charge of Covid Diagnostic Centre and cadets were felicitated on this occasion.
Dr. Vrushali Deshpande was the master of the ceremony while Dr Sopandeo Pise proposed a vote of thanks.
