From 2023, parts of south Nagpur will have access to piped natural gas. The Chinchbhuvan area will be the first to receive it, followed by the surrounding areas.
The pipeline network will gradually expand to other parts of the city, with the full city of Nagpur being serviced within a few years, according to Varun Chaturvedi, general manager (commercial and marketing), Haryana City Gas (HCG). The central government has awarded the business the contract to supply piped natural gas to Nagpur district.
According to Chaturvedi, the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) I gas pipeline was present at Butibori and MIHAN.
“It is not, however, connected to Mumbai. GAIL is constructing a pipeline along the Samruddhi Expressway, which is expected to be completed next year. Our pipeline would be laid from Butibori or MIHAN to Nagpur city. As soon as gas begins to flow through the GAIL pipeline, city areas served by our network will have access to gas 24 hours a day, seven days a week “Added he.
Within two to three months, HCG will begin installing the pipeline from Butibori to Nagpur. It will open an office in this city next month.
