The meeting of the newly-formed district-level Anti-Narcotics Committee was held in the Office of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime branch, here on Monday.
The committee has been constituted to effectively check use of narcotics and handle the issue on regional level. Chinmay Pandit, DCP, presided over the meeting in which Roshan Pandit,, ACP, Manoj Sidam, PI Crime branch and members were present.
The committee will regularly take review and keep watch on illegal cultivation of marijuana in the district, no demand and supply of narcotics through darknet and courier, keeping information about persons admitted in rehabilitation centre about habits, making available drugs detection kit and testing chemicals, creating public awareness, making database, training for investigating officers, checking production of narcotics in URN Chemical Companies and others.
The committee will make efforts to reduce use of narcotics by people throughout the district.
