The fate of summer examinations conducted by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University is likely to be decided on May 11. A meeting of the Academic Council has been convened on the day.
The University has not taken any decision on the mode of examinations. The Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhari, however, had stated that the University is ready to conduct the exams in any mode.
The students are confused over the delay in announcing the dates and mode of examinations. Many student organisations are still firm on the demand of on-line examinations. Higher Education Minister Uday Samant has granted permission to the Vice-Chancellors of all the universities to decide the mode of examinations. The selected mode should be uniform in all the universities.
RTMNU authorities have been waiting for other universities to take a decision. The time is ripe enough to take decision and star the examinations as early as possible.
The delay in conducting examinations and resultant announcement of results, will adversely affect the opportunities to the students to opt for higher education in other national and international universities or institutions. They may have to wait for the next term.
