Forest Department has obtained a no objection certificate from the Central government for transporting 13 elephants from Kamlapur elephant Camp, Sironcha, Patanil and Tadoba to Radhe Krishna Elephant Welfare Trust at Jamnagar in Gujrat, says a letter issued by Yuvraj, Conservator of Forest, (P&M), Nagpur, on Wednesday.
The trust will carry the aged, untrained jumbos and calves to Jamnagar and provide better medical facilities to them in the sprawling land. The trust will bear all the expenditure right from transportation to facilities and comfort. It will not engage them in any works, he added.
