There is a plan to set up 75 consumer grievances redressal centres all over Maharashtra during this Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava year, announced Dr Vijay Lad, State President of Grahak Panchayat.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of Grahak Panchayat, Maharashtra Vidarbha Prant at Himalaya Enclave, Shivaji Nagar, on Tuesday. Jaiprakash Gupta, Central Member of Khadi Gramodyog Sanstha, was the chief guest, who inaugurated the office.
Lad further said that after Nagpur city there was addition of Vidarbha Prant office. Nagpur is the central office for solving problems of consumers from Nagpur, Chandrapur, Gondia, Bhandara, Wardha, Amravati and Buldana districts and it would also work as a guidance centre for office-bearers and active workers, he added.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta appreciated the work of Grahak Panchayat in creating awareness among the people about their rights. The consumers come to these centres with confidence of getting their grievances solved and go back with satisfaction.
Shyamkant Patrikar, Preside3nt of Grahak Panchayat, Maharashtra Vidarbha Prant, presided over the function. Liladhgar Lohre, Secretary, conducted the programme while Archana Pande proposed a vote thanks. Dr Kalpana Upadhyaya, Prant Sanghatak, Milind Khekale, Working President, Nagpur district, Prashant Lanjewar, Adv Pallavi Khaparikar, Shriram Satpute, Rajani Chavan, Varsha Tiwaskar, Dilip Dahake, Sunil Reddy, Dr Rohit Madewar and others were present.
