The Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Radhakrishnan B has instructed the officials concerned to give stress on conducting coronavirus tests at airport, railway station, markets, malls, vegetable markets and other public places, as the corona cases have started increasing in Nagpur city. Today there were 15 positive cases in the city where they were zero or less than2/3 during the past couple of days.
He also asked to test passengers coming from Mumbai or Delhi at the airport as well as the persons coming in their contact so as to break the chain. This will also help avoid infection to senior citizens in the homes, ill persons and children.
Moreover, he instructed to conduct tests of super spreaders at the public places as well as travellers at Nagpur Railway Station.
Radhakrishnan has appealed to citizens to take both the doses of vaccination plus booster dose as well as children to complete vaccination to remain at safer side. He also asked to start wearing masks at public places or functions and maintain safe distance.
The Municipal Commissioner convened an emergent meeting in War Room on Tuesday in which officials and health authorities were present. He took information about measures that are being taken on zone-wise to check the increasing cases. The health workers should conduct RTPCR tests of the persons finding with symptoms. He also wanted that the machinery should be kept ready by Health Department at hospitals with medicines, oxygen plants and staff.
