A.G. Nagpur emerged champions in the recently concluded Indian Audit & Accounts Department (IA& AD) Inter Zonal Cricket Tournament 2022 which was held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala by defeating A.G. Odisha by 7 Wickets.
The Accountant General Recreation Club (AGRC) team also won the Guzder League T-20 (Institution) Title organised by Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) held recently at Jamtha Stadium, Nagpur.
In the Final Match, A.G. Odisha, put into bat were restricted to 85 runs in their allotted 15 overs (match reduced due to rain), thanks to some brilliant bowling by Abhijit Piprode (3-1-9-2), while Lalit Yadav, Shrikant Wagh and Azhar Shaikh took one wicket apiece. Sumitabh top scored with 18 runs, assisted by Seshdeep (15*), B. Dutta (14) and Biplab (14) for A.G. Odisha. In reply, A.G. Nagpur mustered the required target in 12.5 overs (89/3). Sanjay Ramaswamy made a quickfire 38 (22 Balls) while Dharmendra Ahalawat made 16*, Aditya Satwate made 15 and Azhar Shaikh made 13 thereby defeating A.G. Odisha by 7 Wickets.
Earlier, Nagpur team had defeated A.G. West Bengal in the Semifinals. Sanjay Ramaswamy was declared best Batsman while Lalit Yadav was declared the Best Bowler.
In the Finals of Guzder League T-20 (Institution) tournament, A.G.R.C., Nagpur defeated WCL by 9 wickets played at Jamtha Stadium, Nagpur thanks to brilliant all round display by Sanjay Ramaswamy (3-16 & 42 n.o.) and Aditya Sarwate 67 (44 balls) making 118/1 (12.4) while chasing the target of 116 set by WCL. Sultan Ahmed scored 51 n.o. (52 balls) for WCL team.
Praveer Kumar, Accountant General (A& E) and R. Thiruppathi Venkatasamy, Accountant General (Audit)-II, Maharashtra, Nagpur, Nagpur congratulated and felicitated the victorious A.G. Nagpur Cricket team. Both Accountant Generals were all praise for the team as they were runners in the West Zone Tournament held at Nagpur but peaked at the right time to clinch the Inter Zonal Title.
