According to data published on Tuesday by the Union Health Ministry, India saw a single-day increase of 6,594 new coronavirus infections, bringing the overall number of COVID-19 cases to 4,32,36,695, while active cases jumped to 50,548, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,32,36,695.
According to the data updated at 8 a.m., active cases account for 0.12% of total infections, with the national COVID-19 recovery rate standing at 98.67%. On Tuesday, 6 deaths were reported.
An increase of 2,553 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.05 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was also recorded at 2.32 per cent, according to the health ministry.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,26,61,370, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.21 per cent. The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 195.35 crore.
