This year’s wait may be lengthier. The southwest monsoon is expected to arrive in Nagpur on June 16 and cover all of Vidarbha by June 26. According to sources, the monsoon was expected to hit the region on June 9, but it has been postponed by one week. Rajasthan is also anticipating the monsoon to start earlier than last year, with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting monsoon rainfall to touch Kerala approximately five days ahead of schedule.
The arrival date of the monsoon throughout the entire country has been postponed by one week, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC). The monsoon was predicted to arrive in Nagpur on June 9, according to the forecast. However, according to a 50-year study, Nagpur is anticipated to have its first monsoon rain by June 16.
Initially, the RMC forecasted an early monsoon for June 8-10. Then, after a week or so of standstill in the monsoon limit, the met office predicted that the monsoon will arrive in Vidarbha by June 16.
