The Ministry for Environment, Forests & Climate Change has imposed ban on single use plastic from today
Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) of Nagpur Municipal Corporation launched intensified campaign from Friday against 13 establishments for using banned single use plastic materials and recovered a fine of Rs 75,000/- from them.
The Ministry for Environment, Forests and Climate Change has imposed ban on single use plastic from today. It banned use of carry bags, dish bowls, container etc.
The NDS had even taken out rallies in all the ten zones two days ago to create awareness about avoiding single use plastic from July 1 and warned that suitable action would be taken against the defaulters. It has so far taken action against 93 establishments and recovered a fine of Rs 4.80 lakh.
The NDS concentrated on Dhantoli, Nehru Nagar, Gandhibag, Sataranjipura, Ashinagar and Mangalwari zone. It recovered a fine of Rs 55,000/- alone from the shops/establishments in Ashinagar. It also took action against Navdurga Saree Centre, Padmavati Kirana Stores under Dhantoli zone, Gajanan Daily Needs under Nehru Nagar zone, Bode Khadya Bhandara, Vikas Cloth Shop, Hudia Traders under Gandhibag zone, Mahendra Kirana & General Stores, Shailendra Kirana & Compony under Sataranjipura zone and shops in Ashinagar.
It also fined Rs 10,000/- to Singh Builders at North Ambazari Road for keeping construction materials by the roadside.
