The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has
issued a warning for heavy rain for most of the districts of Vidarbha on July 8 and 9.
Keeping the alert in mind, the Maharashtra
Government deployed one company of National
Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in city to handle
flood like situation in Nagpur district.
The Weather Department has issued an ‘orange alert’ for Chandrapur and Gadchiroli on Friday, implying that the two districts are likely to witness ‘heavy to very heavy’ rainfall.
As per IMD, Nagpur, Amravati, Gondia and Bhandara are also expected to receive heavy rains on July 8 and 9.
On Thursday, Nagpur was the only place that received rainfall whereas other parts in the district remained more.or less dry.
Due to the heavy rain in Nagpur, on Thursday, the
maximum temperature went below 30 degrees
Celsius whereas the minimum was 24.8 degrees Celsius.
The relative humidity was 100 pc. In last 24 hours, Amravati received 11.6 mm rainfall, Buldhana received 65 mm rainfall, Bramhapuri 23.8 mm, Akola 1.9 mm, Chandrapur 4.8 mm,
Gondia 6 mm, Nagpur 87.5 mm and Yavatmal 4 mm.
