A programme is launched to link Aadhar card number with the electoral list, as per directives given by the Election Commission.
As per the directives issued on June 17, 2022, every person having his/her name included in the voters’ list till April 1, 2023 has submit the Aadhar card number by filling form no: 6-B. The copies of the form would be made available to the voters by visiting Election Commission website: eci.gov.in and Chief Election officer webite:https://ceoelection.maharashtra.gov.in. The voters wanting to fill up the form online through ERO Net, GARUDA, NVSP, VHA medium.
The objectives behind linking Aadhar are to standardisation of names in the voters’ list and detecting names registered more than one time in the constituency. The voters can do it voluntarily and not mandatory. The forms would also be collected through BLO by door-to-door visits. The names of voters would not be deleted from the voters’ list in case they fail to link Aadhar card number, said R Vimla, District Collector and District Returning Officer, Nagpur, appealed voter to start linking Aadhar car number in the list from August 1 in large numbers.
