The State Election Commission has stayed elections to 92 nagar parishads and 4 nagar panchayats because the Supreme Court extended hearing on a petition from July 12 to 19.
Sanjay Savant, Secretary of the Commission, has sent letters to the Collectors concerned about staying the elections. The Commission had earlier declared elections to the nagar parishads and nagar pachayats from 17 districts of Maharashtra on July 18.
