In even more bad news for India’s aviation sector, Air India Express’s Calicut-Dubai flight was diverted to Muscat on Saturday night after a burning smell was noticed in the cabin mid-flight, according to DGCA officials.
Pilots diverted the aircraft to Muscat and made a safe landing after authorities claimed that the burning smell was coming from one of the vents in the forward galley.
Officials stated that the event is being looked into by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Another instance was the precautionary detour to Karachi on Sunday of IndiGo’s Sharjah-Hyderabad aircraft after pilots noticed an issue with one of the engines. According to sources, these occurrences are being looked into by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
After an emergency landing at Karachi airport earlier today during a trip from Sharjah to Hyderabad, IndiGo Airlines’ replacement aircraft has since arrived in Karachi, Pakistan. According to the reports, the replacement aircraft would take off from Karachi soon with all 125 people on board.

According to the Karachi airport officials, the flight was diverted when it was on the way to Dubai.
