In a tragic incident, a bus of MSRTC leaving Indore for Amalner fell down in Narmada river at Dhar bridge at 10 am on Monday while the rescue team fished out bodies of 13 persons, including 4 woman and a child. The search operation for other passengers is going on.
It is reported that the bus bearing no: MH 40 N 9848 started from Indore for Amalner in Maharashtra at 7.30 am. When it reached to a bridge at Dhar in between Khalghat and Thigri, the driver lost control on the wheel and straightway the bus fell in Narmada river in spate. Upon on getting information, officials and rescue teams from Khargon and Dhar reached the spot to start the rescue operation. The bus was taken out from the river so that injured persons could be shifted to the nearby hospital.
District Collector from Jalgaon and administration are in constant touch with the administration at Khargon and Dhar for rescuing and extending cooperation. Among the 13 bodies found, one passenger Murtja Bora (27), husband of Arva, was from Murtizapur in Akola district. The other passengers were from Jalgaon, Jaipur, Udaypur and Amalner. Our of 13 bodies, indentities of eight passengers was established so far.
Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister, has instructed to MSRTC authorities to extend a financial help of Rs 10 lakh each to the close relatives of the deceased. Similarly, Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, while paying tributes to the deceased in the accident, also talked to the Collector from Dhar about rescue operation and necessary assistance to the passengers.
