A deputation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) met the Divisional Controller, Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) here on Thursday and submitted a memorandum, pressing the demands for reduction in ST fare from Nagpur to Pachmarhi (MP) and withdrawing additional tax per head charged there to devotees attending Nagdwar yatra (fair) beginning from July 23.
Piyush Aakre, Vidarbha Convener of the party, who led the deputation, pointed out that a large number of devotees from Vidarbha go to the fair. However, MSRTC is looting the poor devotees in the name of fare and tax so that they should be deprived of this yatra.
The fair was kept closed during the last years owing to coronavirus pandemic and now the devotees are delighted to take darshan of Lord Shiva but the corporation was putting hurdles for them, he added.
The deputationists warned that the administration should take immediate decision on their demands otherwise they would resort to symbolic agitation shortly. The deputation consisted of Krutal Aakrem Pratik Bawankar, Pankaj Meshram, Shubham More, Girish Titarmare, Girish Kubde, Vishal Patle and Gautam Kaware.
