A delegation from NHS, UK led by David Thomas, Director of Nursing, Somerset NHS Trust consisting of Nursing Professionals from various fields visited Madhuribai Deshmukh Institute of Nursing Education on July 24.
The Agenda of this visit was to assess the status and infrastructure of the Institute, which includes the physical infrastructure, academic record, and faculty strength amongst others.
This visit was arranged through BAPIO [British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin] represented by Dr. Raju Khandelwal, Director Kingsway Hospitals and Dr. Rekha Khandelwal who is the coordinator for Royal College Courses at Kingsway Hospital and was coordinated by Rajiv Yashroy, Project Director, VSPM Academy of Higher Education.
The delegation visited the institute and interacted with all the faculty members including the Director of Nursing, Principal, Vice Principals and other senior faculty. They were taken on a round of various Labs, Library, Skill Lab and the Psychiatric Ward and they expressed their happiness after this visit.
They were very pleased with the quality of teaching and also with the level of infrastructure shown to them during this visit.
They invited the students for interviews for placement in the UK and also showed interest in collaborating with the institution in terms of teaching, learning and research in the field of Nursing.
