Nagpur division has received 2.50 lakh national flags from the Centre. The administration is carrying a campaign to the make programme of ‘Ghar Ghar Tiranga’ for displaying tricolours at government, semi-government, private offices, establishment and at the homes from August 13 to 15 to mark Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava.
Addressing a press conference in the Commissionerate on Friday, Radhakrishnan B, Divisional Commissioner, has appealed to the people to install tricolours at the homes during this period with honour and promote national feelings. He said that the people should purchase national flags and encourage others to display the tricolours by following the protocol, he added.
The number of offices, establishments and homes in the division is 28,83,649, including ten lakhs in Nagpur district while the demand for flags is 24,67,718. He said that these flags would be made available The flags would be sold at nominal prices at 4,417 centres such as gram panchayat, nagar parishad, corporation, panchayat samiti, school, ration shop etc., said Radhakrishnan.
Hemraj Bagul, Director, Information, and Asha Pathan, Deputy Collector, were present at the press conference.
