According to a report by Box Office India, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ opened in the range of around Rs 10-11 crore as it was released on the occasion of ‘Raksha Bandhan’. The film is also facing a clash with Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednekar’s family drama ‘Raksha Bandhan’, which also arrived in theatres on the same day.
In Nagpur as well the film received a disappointing start as only 15-20 per cent occupancy was recorded in many prominent theaters.

According to early trade reports, Raksha Bandhan also earned approx. Rs 10 crore on Day 1.
