Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur) celebrated 76th Independence day on August 15, 2022 on its new campus for the first time. The event commenced with a march-past by the IIMN Security, followed by the unfurling of the National Flag by Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Metri listed the significant achievements India as a nation had made during the 75 years of Independence. Dr. Metri highlighted how India was striving forward to lead the world and how it was important for institutions of national importance, like IIM Nagpur, to be the flag bearers and to play a larger role in nation-building and making this world more responsible and accountable.
Adding on, Lt Col Makarand V Alur (Retd), CAO, IIM Nagpur, stressed on how India was growing economically and how the students were going to be an essential part of this growth journey.
The event was followed by a series of stellar dance performances in folk and contemporary forms, as well as displaying some amazing instrumental and vocal performances by the PGP students.
Abhyudaya, the Cultural club of IIM Nagpur, paid tributes to the motherland by showcasing the ‘Firsts in India’.
