On Tuesday, three earthquakes rattled Maharashtra’s Nashik in less than an hour. No deaths have been reported, and the administration has urged citizens not to panic.
According to the Nashik District Disaster Management Authority, the epicentre of the earthquake was Dindori taluka, which is 16 to 20 kilometres from the Nashik observatory.
Three earthquakes were felt at 08.58 pm, 09.34 pm and 09.42 pm, with magnitudes 3.4, 2.1 and 1.9 respectively. Mild tremors of the earthquake were felt in Dindori village and surrounding villages, triggering panic in the area. No loss of life and property has been reported.
According to preliminary information, earthquake tremors were also felt in Dindori Taluka, Dindori, Madkijamb, Hatnore, Neelwandi, Jambutke, Umrale, Talegaon. Local Shiv Sena leader Vithalrao Apsunde said that the maximum tremors were felt in Jambutke village.
