In another major IAS transfer in Maharashtra, Vipin Itankar has been appointed as the new Nagpur District Collector.
Itankar, will replace Nagpur Collector Vimala R, who has been transferred to Pune as Commissioner of Women and Child Welfare.
Vipin Itankar, a doctor from Nagpur-based Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC) secured 14th All India Rank (AIR) to top the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams from Maharashtra.
He was the Collector, in Nanded.
Meanwhile, Vimla R was appointed as Nagpur district Collector last year in July. She will now be taking charge as the Commissioner of Women and Child Welfare in Pune.
