Railways in its endeavor to introduce the digital initiatives and with a view to provide the best passenger services to the travelling public have implemented the latest Computerized TTE Lobby technology in Ticket checking wherein the on-board ticket checking activities are made transparent and based on Hand Held Terminals (HHT) devices which are connected to the PRS system Server. The vacant berths onboard train shall be transferred on a real-time basis to the PRS (Passenger reservation system) which shall allot these vacant berths to the RAC/WL passengers eliminating the human intervention in this regard.
The HHT with the size of iPad will be loaded with passenger reservation chart, since it is connected with the Central Server of PRS (Passenger Reservation system) through GPRS the details of booking of tickets, vacant berths position is updated on a real-time basis. This will immensely help the Passengers with Reservation against cancellation or waiting list tickets. This will bring transparency in allotment of berths.
However, the passengers are advised to strictly embark from the Boarding stations mentioned in their Journey Tickets only otherwise the vacant berths are released to PRS Central server directly from train by the Ticket checking staff through the HHT devices.
In case the passengers board from other than their boarding station mentioned in their journey ticket they will lose their accommodation since their berths will be allotted by the PRS System to the RAC/WL passengers.
The Roll out of HHT Ticket checking is being extended to all in the Railways
Passengers are requested to note the same.
